Hamburg (H)
These sticks are less than 32 mm in diameter and comprise of the rough cinnamon bark.
H1 : Maximum diameter: 23 mm
Minimum number of whole quills per kilogram : 11.
H1 : Maximum diameter: 25 mm
Minimum number of whole quills per kilogram : 9.
Mexican (M)
Cinnamon sticks in this grade are rough in appearance and brown in colour. They are less than 19 mm in diameter and consist of two types.
M5 : Maximum diameter: 16 mm
Minimum number of whole quills per kilogram : 22.
M4 : Maximum diameter: 19 mm
Minimum number of whole quills per kilogram : 18.
Continental (C)
This grade is very popular due to its excellent shape, taste and colour. They are quite slim, golden yellow in colour, sweet tasting and do not exceed 16 mm in diameter.
C5 Special : Maximum diameter : 6 mm
Minimum number of whole quills per kilogram : 35.
C5 : Maximum diameter : 10 mm
Minimum number of whole quills per kilogram : 31.
C4 : Maximum diameter: 13 mm
Minimum number of whole quills per kilogram : 24.
